General Dentistry
Young Children

Good dental care begins at birth when nutrition and general health play a large part in growth and development of children. We welcome early childhood visits from any age; the earlier the better, particularly if you have any concerns regarding the position, health or growth rate of new teeth.

Where possible we recommend children drink water, some milk if seeking an alternative, but minimal amounts of juice as the acid and high sugar content is detrimental to dental health. Sugary fizzy drinks (soft drinks) should be avoided all together as the sugar content is excessive and combined with the acids and preservatives can have a harmful effect on tooth enamel, can boost decay-causing bacteria and can impact negatively on overall health. Contact us today if you have any questions or would like to make an appointment to see one of our dental health professionals.

Young Adults

Life as a young adult can be busy and stressful and sometimes the key health issues can slip off the radar.

It is important during this phase of personal and physical development that good dental habits be followed, so that as a young adult you can set yourself up for a life of good nutrition, strong well-positioned teeth, healthy gums and a healthy jaw. We recommend drinking plenty of water, avoiding ‘fast food’ that has high sugar content and sugary carbonated drinks including sweet alcoholic beverages as they promote teeth decay.

Looking after your overall health through plenty of sleep, regular exercise such as walking, eating well balanced meals, not missing meals and managing stress levels all have an impact on good dental health. For any questions please contact our dental health professionals today.
