Oral Surgery

The most common oral surgery procedure in dentistry involves tooth extractions, particularly of partially erupted or impacted wisdom teeth.

Wisdom teeth are the third set of molars, and the last teeth to develop. Where the jaw is large enough and room exists between teeth the wisdom teeth can erupt without issue, but quite often they become trapped between the jaw and the gum, and are ‘impacted’ or partially erupted, resulting in swelling, pain and sometimes damage to nearby teeth.

We are able to extract most problem wisdom teeth under sedation at Bowman Dental.

At Bowman Dental we utilise concentrated growth factor to help your body maximise its regenerative abilities, allowing it to heal soft tissue wounds more easily. CGF involves taking a small amount of your blood, placing it into a sterile special centrifuge to separate the platelet growth factors from the red blood cells and using these rich platelet growth factors during your dental treatment to enhance your healing.

If you have any questions about wisdom teeth or concentrated growth factor call us today.
